Vanessa Thorman is a self-taught watercolor artist who began to explore art as a result of the constraints of the COVID quarantine. As one who is often left in awe by the natural artistry and, at times, “human-ness” of animals, her response has been to paint them as a form of gratitude. The premise of her work is for the subject to be known by the viewer, creating an encounter in which two souls meet. Simply put, her art is an expression of pure love and admiration for her dear “friends” of fur and feathers.
