I studied art over 35 years ago but only returned to drawing and painting 7 years ago after encouragement from my family. My confidence has grown after entering the DSWF Wildlife Artist of the Year competition. I have been selected as a finalist for seven years. My work is inspired by my passion for nature conservation and wildlife. My seemingly random scribbles build up a complex texture to give the desired effect. What appears abstract close up, is revealed in full when you step back and view as a whole. My experiments using different mediums from the traditional ink and pen and ink wash to the more unusual of using coffee as a wash to create different tones and marks.
