Born in Germany, but have lived in Noordhoek, Cape Town since I was 8 years old. We spent 7 years in the Middle East, which too, was full of painting inspiration!
I feel that I have finally found my style, and florals and birds on canvas are my niche, always incorporating a glow and light. My quirky Ostriches are a crowd favourite and I catch myself smiling the whole time that I’m creating them! My inspiration is nature and our beautiful surroundings. Apart from selling my artwork privately through my website and social media pages, I also participate in the Deep South Community Art exhibitions and The studio art gallery exhibitions. Two of my largest paintings are currently displayed at an art café in Mosselbay, South Africa.
Through my art sales I support a local animal shelter and have auctioned some artworks to help conservation organisations in the past. It’s an honour to be able to use my talent to support conservation on a more regular basis. I have a deep love and respect for animals and feel that it’s most important to care for their safety in any way we can! Having travelled extensively through Africa and shared campsites with the likes of elephants and lions, I can tell you with certainty that humans are not the most superior species.
As commissions and sales increase, I am now building up my full-time art career and am incredibly grateful to be on this career trajectory.
I also paint wall murals, which I got a taste for when I volunteered at The Red Cross children’s hospital to “paint it forward” with a large wall mural. I have since decorated many walls.
I’m constantly surrounded by beauty and inspiration and feel incredibly lucky to be amongst so many talented artists!
