Emma Colbert is a professional artist painting in the medium of soft pastel. Working on animal portrait commissions for the past fourteen years, Emma enjoys painting all types of subject matter including landscapes, wildlife, people and still life. Endorsed by Unison Colour Pastels, she has created several colour selections of soft pastels for them introducing other artists to the beauty of the medium. These days Emma spends much of her time teaching via her videos on Youtube and Patreon. IN EMMA'S WORDS: I decided to become an artist based on the fact that I loved drawing and animals. The link between my work and animals has always been clear and I think that a lot of animal artists start the same way. I discovered pastel at an early age and I feel totally at home with this medium. My painting time at the easel using my beautifully vibrant and tactile pastels is still the best part of my working day. I’m delighted to be involved in projects where funds are used directly to help animals. It always was and still is my aim to make a difference with my art.
