Living and studying in Brisbane, Australia, Darren has enjoyed a career in graphic design while reconnecting with his love of fine art. A long-held fascination with the natural world and the relationships between that which make it their home, inspires much of Darren’s work. He strives to capture the finest details in an aesthetic that celebrates the chosen subject, relating both a keen observation of reality with an infusion of whimsey. He works exclusively with the finest traditional soft pastels for their pigment quality and smooth colour lay-down, combined with pastel pencil, to bring about added depth and detail to each piece. Darren’s work has been selected for various local, national and international group exhibitions and publications. He is a passionate conservation and animal rights advocate.
